Reviewer verdict

Across 19 YouTube reviews, the Sony X90K earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #72 among TVs. Reviewers most often praise its picture quality, gaming features, smart features, while the most common criticisms concern picture quality, gaming features.

The Sony X90K is widely praised for its picture quality, with reviewers (106 mentions) highlighting deep blacks for an LCD, strong HDR highlights, high peak brightness in smaller windows, effective full-array local dimming, and accurate color and upscaling thanks to Sony's XR cognitive processing. Many reviewers (43 mentions) also applaud its gaming features — 4K/120Hz, VRR/HDMI 2.1 support, low input lag and Auto Low Latency Mode — making it a popular choice for console gaming. Reviewers additionally note solid smart platform integration, convenient connectivity options, and a well-built design with flexible stands and a usable remote. Across the sample, praise is consistent for picture processing, HDR impact, gaming readiness, and general value for the price point within Sony’s lineup.

Criticisms focus mainly on picture limitations (66 mentions): reviewers report noticeable blooming/haloing and dark corner vignetting from the VA-type full-array panel, limited viewing angles, and inconsistent local dimming behavior that can reduce contrast with certain UI or VRR states. Several reviewers found HDR brightness and contrast uneven for some content and cited occasional processing artifacts (motion interpolation issues and micro-stutter) on specific sources. Other recurring negatives include fewer than four HDMI 2.1 ports (connectivity concerns), a cluttered array of picture options and a small fiddly remote, and some reviewers saying the model feels like a downgrade versus prior Sony models or close-priced OLED alternatives.

Design & Build (21)

I love the way the feet just kind of click in ▶ Sony X90K 4K HDR Full Array Google TV Review @ 7:23
its design now it doesn't really stand out like some of the sets we've been able to try out this year it has no gimmicks the bezels aren't particularly thin it looks like your basic Smart TV but I found that the legs or the stands for this Bravia TV kind of trippy for the most part it's toolless and you just have to remove it from the slot on the bottom of the x90k but what I really appreciate is the foresight of the company thinking that some people might want to use this with one of their sound bars so they made it height adjustable so it doesn't block the bottom of the screen it's a nice elegant solution for those of you who might want to elevate your home theater experience ▶ 3 Reasons to Upgrade to this TV | Sony Bravia X90K @ 0:11
