Vertix 2S

Reviewer verdict

Across 20 YouTube reviews, the COROS Vertix 2S earns an Index score of 3.7/5, ranking #23 among Smartwatches. Reviewers most often praise its features, design & comfort, connectivity, while the most common criticisms concern features, design & comfort.

The COROS Vertix 2S earns widespread praise for its phenomenal, industry-leading battery life, with many users reporting it lasts for weeks on a single charge even with consistent GPS use. This makes it an exceptional tool for ultrarunners, mountaineers, and long-distance hikers. Its rugged build, featuring a titanium bezel and sapphire glass screen, ensures it can withstand the harshest outdoor environments. The smartwatch also features significant hardware upgrades, including a new dual-frequency GNSS chipset for remarkably accurate GPS tracking in challenging terrain and a revamped optical heart rate sensor that provides much-improved accuracy. Combined with offline maps, an intuitive user interface, and two included straps, the Vertix 2S offers a compelling package.

The Vertix 2S is more of a dedicated sports tool than a full-featured smartwatch, lacking key modern conveniences. Reviewers frequently criticize the absence of mobile payments (NFC) and music streaming service integration, requiring users to manually load MP3 files. The memory-in-pixel display, while excellent for battery life, is considered dim and less vibrant than the AMOLED screens on competing devices. Furthermore, the watch lacks ANT+ support, a drawback for some cyclists and triathletes. While the heart rate sensor is improved, it can still struggle with accuracy during high-intensity interval training, and its large design may be too cumbersome for smaller wrists.
