ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition

Reviewer verdict

Across 25 YouTube reviews, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition earns an Index score of 4/5, ranking #27 among Laptops. Reviewers most often praise its design & build quality, performance, keyboard & trackpad, while the most common criticisms concern design & build quality, performance.

Reviewers consistently praise the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 for its extreme portability, weighing under one kilogram without sacrificing its classic rugged build quality. The legendary ThinkPad keyboard remains a standout feature, providing an unparalleled comfortable and tactile typing experience. Many highlight the stunning 2.8K OLED display option, which delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Thanks to the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, this generation sees a significant improvement in efficiency, resulting in strong all-day battery life with cool and quiet operation. A surprisingly generous selection of ports, including full-size USB-A and HDMI, rounds out this impressive package for mobile professionals.

The primary drawback is its very high price, which many reviewers feel is not justified for all users. A significant limitation is the soldered RAM, which prevents future upgrades and is capped at 32GB, a deal-breaker for some professionals needing more memory. Other common complaints include the lack of an SD card reader, which is an inconvenience for content creators, and underwhelming speaker performance for a premium device. While functional, the 1080p webcam is considered disappointing for its price, and the advertised AI software features are largely dismissed as marketing gimmicks that add little practical value.
