Reviewer verdict

Across 18 YouTube reviews, the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 Gaming earns an Index score of 3.7/5, ranking #58 among Gaming PCs & Laptops. Reviewers most often praise its performance, build quality, other, while the most common criticisms concern build quality, performance.

The ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 is a well-rounded and highly capable workstation, praised for its refreshed, premium design and robust, military-spec build quality. It delivers a superior user experience with one of the best keyboards on the market and a new, amazing haptic touchpad. Performance is strong thanks to new Intel Core Ultra CPUs and capable NVIDIA GPUs, making it suitable for demanding professional workflows and even casual gaming. This power is matched by outstanding battery life, often exceeding ten hours in tests. Users also appreciate the generous and practical port selection, user-upgradeable RAM and storage, and multiple high-quality display options, solidifying its place as a top-tier portable powerhouse.

The most significant criticisms are its very high price and poor thermal management. Under sustained load, the CPU runs extremely hot, often reaching its thermal limits, which in turn causes the fans to become audibly loud. Despite the premium cost, GPU performance is power-limited and a downgrade in peak capability compared to the previous generation. Other common complaints include a chassis finish that easily attracts fingerprints and smudges, the removal of dedicated TrackPoint buttons, and the current difficulty in sourcing the new LPCAMM2 memory modules for upgrades.

Analysis based on 18 YouTube reviews (3h 6m of video) with 256 pros and 126 cons extracted.
