QuietComfort Ultra

Reviewer verdict

Across 20 YouTube reviews, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earns an Index score of 3.6/5, ranking #44 among Wired Earbuds. Reviewers most often praise its sound quality, design, comfort, while the most common criticisms concern sound quality, value for money.

Praised universally for their phenomenal comfort, the QuietComfort Ultra headphones are exceptionally lightweight with plush, soft earcups and a well-padded headband, allowing for hours of fatigue-free listening. This comfort is matched by world-class active noise cancellation that effectively silences a wide range of ambient sounds, from airplane engines to office chatter. Reviewers also frequently highlight the high-quality, customizable sound profile achievable through the app’s EQ, a very natural-sounding transparency mode, and reliable multipoint Bluetooth connectivity for switching between two devices seamlessly. Combined with a premium build, improved call quality, and a protective carrying case, they represent a complete and compelling package for daily use and travel.

The primary drawback is the steep price, which many feel isn't fully justified by the iterative improvements over previous models. The default sound signature is often described as overly bass-heavy, requiring EQ adjustments for a more balanced listening experience. While functional, the microphone quality is considered merely adequate for calls in noisy environments, not exceptional. Other criticisms include a bulky carrying case, a basic three-band equalizer in the app, and the absence of some modern smart features like 'speak-to-chat' found on competing flagship headphones, making the overall value proposition a key concern.
