Reviewer verdict

Across 20 YouTube reviews, the HP Omen 16 Transcend (2025) earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #31 among Gaming PCs & Laptops. Reviewers most often praise its performance, build quality, display, while the most common criticisms concern build quality, cooling.

Reviewers broadly praise the Omen 16 Transcend for its strong performance, with many noting the new Intel Core Ultra CPUs, high-end Nvidia GPUs, large RAM and fast NVMe storage as enabling excellent gaming and content-creation performance (performance was the most-mentioned positive). The 16-inch OLED/QHD+ display with high refresh rates and excellent color and response times is repeatedly highlighted as a standout. Its updated cooling system (vapor chambers, liquid-metal cryo compound, redesigned heat pipes and auto fan-cleaning) and solid aluminum build are also frequently applauded, as are the comfortable keyboard with per-key RGB and plentiful ports. Across the 20 reviews these themes — performance, display, cooling, build/inputs and connectivity — are the most consistently noted strengths.

Common criticisms center on portability and physical ergonomics: reviewers repeatedly call the Transcend heavy, chunky, and somewhat awkward to carry (build quality/weight was the single largest negative theme). Noise and thermal behavior remain concerns for some reviewers, who report loud fans, throttling or difficulty sustaining peak performance in high-power profiles despite the new cooling hardware. Reviewers also flagged middling battery life and the expectation that heavy gaming will require being plugged in, plus quibbles about keyboard/trackpad feel and some display or connectivity tradeoffs (missing G-Sync, limited USB-C/Thunderbolt choices) that reduce polish for certain users.

a special feature that was built with Intel. the fans have the ability to automatically clean themselves. It's the first time I've seen this done on a laptop. And it'll intermittently and automatically reverse the air flow, like the direction of the air flow on this device. So, it actually cleans the fan in the process. It gets rid of any dust that's built up and it does it automatically. You don't have to think about it, but if you want to, you can disable it in the software. ▶ HP OMEN MAX 16 - Their Best Gaming Laptop. @ 2:18
All of this is handled by their new thermal system. they're running a new Omen cryo compound. It's a liquid metal, but it's a custom compound that's more viscous to prevent leaks down the line. And they also have a new vapor chamber setup that was designed to dump heat quickly. They've positioned the components on the laptop so they can have shorter heat pipe runs, which reduces thermal resistance. And the result is excellent thermal performance. This is one of the coolest surface temperatures I've seen on a gaming laptop. ▶ HP OMEN MAX 16 - Their Best Gaming Laptop. @ 1:46
