Reviewer verdict

Across 25 YouTube reviews, the Acer Nitro 17 (2024) earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #28 among Gaming PCs & Laptops. Reviewers most often praise its performance, display, build quality, while the most common criticisms concern build quality, keyboard & trackpad (laptops).

The Nitro 17 is frequently praised for strong gaming and multitasking performance, with many reviewers highlighting Ryzen or 13th‑gen Intel CPUs, RTX 40‑series GPUs, DDR5 RAM and fast NVMe storage as delivering smooth gameplay and quick responsiveness (mentioned across a majority of reviews). Its large 17.3‑inch high‑refresh display (many comments note 165 Hz and QHD/2K IPS panels) receives consistent positive remarks for vibrancy, color and smoothness. Reviewers also commonly praise solid build feel with easy upgradeability (extra M.2 slot and RAM upgrade options), good connectivity including Wi‑Fi 6/6E and multiple ports, and generally strong value for the price band. Cooling, keyboard/trackpad, battery life and speakers are noted positively in several reviews as contributing to an overall capable gaming laptop experience.

Common criticisms focus on the Nitro 17's build tradeoffs: many reviewers call it heavy and bulky with noticeable plastic chassis flex and a less premium finish, and some specifically dislike the logo and aesthetic. The touchpad and keyboard receive recurrent complaints about responsiveness, flex and softer typing feedback, while speakers and some software quirks (speaker thinness, RAM‑hungry Nitro software, odd battery charge restrictions) are called out by multiple reviewers. Other recurring negatives include middling display brightness or color coverage in some units, average battery life for gaming workloads, and audible fan noise under turbo loads.
