Reviewer verdict

Across 22 YouTube reviews, the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX earns an Index score of 4.2/5, ranking #15 among SSDs. Reviewers most often praise its performance, durability, compatibility, while the most common criticisms concern other, performance.

The Corsair MP600 Pro LPX is widely praised as an exceptional and straightforward storage upgrade, particularly for the PlayStation 5. Its most lauded feature is the pre-installed, low-profile heatsink, which is perfectly sized for the PS5's expansion bay, ensuring a simple, plug-and-play installation without any fuss. Performance is a major highlight, with sequential read and write speeds that comfortably exceed Sony's requirements. In real-world gaming tests, it consistently delivers load times that are either indistinguishable from or slightly faster than the console's internal storage. Many reviewers consider it a top contender due to its excellent balance of high performance, easy setup, and competitive pricing, making it a reliable "set-it-and-forget-it" solution.

The primary drawback noted is that the impressive advertised speeds are capacity-dependent; the 2TB and 4TB models perform best, while the 1TB and 500GB variants have significantly slower sequential write speeds. Although very fast, it is consistently edged out in raw benchmark performance by top-tier competitors like the WD Black SN850 or Samsung 990 Pro. While the drive offers a good value, it isn't the cheapest option available, and its compact heatsink can lead to high temperatures and thermal throttling during very heavy, sustained write operations. Price can also fluctuate, and some premium competitors offer slightly better endurance ratings.
