Reviewer verdict

Across 16 YouTube reviews, the TeamGroup MP44L earns an Index score of 3.9/5, ranking #41 among SSDs. Reviewers most often praise its performance, features, price, while the most common criticisms concern performance, features.

The Team Group MP44L is repeatedly praised across reviews for its strong overall performance, with many reviewers (67 mentions) calling it one of the best mid-range PCIe 4.0 SSDs they have tried and highlighting high sequential and random read/write results, stable transfer speeds, and good real-world file-copy performance. Reviewers also frequently note useful features (29 mentions) such as an ultra-thin graphene-like heatsink, SLC caching and DRAM presence on some capacities, plus generally effective heat dissipation. Price and value come up positively (19 mentions), with multiple reviewers calling it affordable or a good price/performance compromise for a Gen4 drive. Additional commonly cited strengths include low power/thermal behavior (15 mentions), decent endurance figures and warranty (8–5 mentions), and compatibility with laptops, desktops and consoles (10 mentions).

Criticisms are concentrated on uneven or not-top-tier performance (31 mentions), especially for the 1 TB model and under sustained fills where write speeds can drop significantly; several reviewers say it trails a few competing Gen4 drives by a few percent. Feature complaints (10 mentions) point to it being ramless in some SKUs, lacking a dedicated DRAM cache or more robust heatsink options, and otherwise offering a simple feature set. Price concerns appear in a minority of reviews (8 mentions), with some saying it sits too close to faster or better-value alternatives, and a portion of reviewers raise durability/thermal worries (7 mentions) about temperature under heavy load and TBW for professional use. Compatibility and software issues are only occasional mentions.
