Reviewer verdict

Across 26 YouTube reviews, the Meze Audio Liric earns an Index score of 3.8/5, ranking #35 among Over-Ear Headphones. Reviewers most often praise its sound quality, comfort, build quality, while the most common criticisms concern sound quality, features.

The Liric is repeatedly praised for its excellent sound quality, with many reviewers (121 mentions) noting detailed imaging, strong resolution, and a pleasing, smooth treble and mids for a closed-back headphone. Reviewers also frequently highlight comfort and light weight (43 mentions), describing plush ear pads, a wide headband, and long listening comfort. Design and build quality are commonly commended (31 and 23 mentions respectively) for attractive wood/metal finishes, thoughtful details like magnetic pads, and robust construction. Several reviewers additionally point out useful features such as planar magnetic drivers and easy drivability, and many call it one of the best closed-back options available.

Criticisms center mostly on sound-tuning issues (94 mentions), with many reviewers reporting mid-range balance problems: recessed or thin lower mids, occasional brightness or sibilance in the upper treble, and variable bass impact that can feel light or lacking slam. Comfort and fit get some negative notes (15 mentions) around heat, pressure build-up typical of closed-backs, tighter earcups for larger ears, and minor headband or hotspot issues. A smaller group criticizes build/accessory choices and cables (10 mentions) as generic or slipping, and several reviews note that the headphone is amp- and source-dependent and may need power or break-in to reach its best sound.
