Draknight 5"

Reviewer verdict

Across 2 YouTube reviews, the HGLRC Draknight 5" earns an Index score of 3.6/5, ranking #32 among FPV Drones. Reviewers most often praise its features, flight performance, build quality, while the most common criticisms concern build quality, flight performance.

The HGLRC Draknight stands out for its impressive power and versatility packed into a compact frame. Its micro brushless motors deliver strong punch-outs for aggressive outdoor freestyle, yet it remains controllable enough for mellow indoor flying. This adaptability is complemented by a generous ready-to-fly bundle that includes a feature-rich radio with built-in batteries and simulator support, and goggles with adjustable myopia for near-sighted pilots. The drone is also praised for its durability, featuring tough props and a sturdy aluminum camera mount, along with a modern flight controller with a built-in ELRS receiver. Topping it off, users report excellent flight times of around 7-9 minutes when cruising, making it a capable package for various flying styles.

This drone is not recommended for absolute beginners due to its fast, snappy flight characteristics and lack of prop guards. Pilots have observed performance issues, including prop vibrations and a noticeable waggle or instability above 80% throttle, suggesting the stock tune is imperfect. Some hardware limitations are also present; the included goggles lack a DVR for recording flights, and the video signal can experience breakup in busy environments. Additionally, the motors are strictly rated for 2S batteries, and their unusual three-hole mounting pattern can make replacements difficult to source.
