Reviewer verdict

Across 16 YouTube reviews, the COROS Apex 4 earns an Index score of 4/5, ranking #7 among Smartwatches. Reviewers most often praise its features, design & comfort, battery life, while the most common criticisms concern other, features.

The COROS Apex 4 is celebrated for its outstanding battery life, providing extensive runtimes even with high-accuracy, dual-frequency GPS. Its premium and durable build, featuring a grade five titanium bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire glass, is ideal for rugged outdoor use. A new, faster processor delivers a significantly smoother user interface and near-instant map rendering, a major upgrade over previous models. The third-generation MIP display offers excellent sunlight visibility while conserving power. Further enhancements include accurate sensors for GPS and heart rate, plus the addition of a speaker and microphone for calls, audio alerts, and unique voice pin functionality, creating a powerful and feature-rich sports watch that provides excellent value for serious athletes.

The primary drawback is the Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) display; while power-efficient and clear in sunlight, many find it looks dim, dated, and less vibrant than competitors' AMOLED screens. The watch is also missing key lifestyle features expected at this price, most notably contactless payments and native integration with music streaming services like Spotify, limiting users to manual MP3 file transfers. Some reviewers noted the polymer case feels less premium than an all-metal design, and a few experienced occasional inaccuracies with the optical heart rate sensor and GPS performance when navigation was active, indicating a need for software refinement.

Analysis based on 16 YouTube reviews (3h 22m of video) with 243 pros and 77 cons extracted.
